We had great trip to NYC last weekend packed full of education, information, networking and of course, some fun all around 🙂 We know that this industry is going to be a wild ride. Which is why we are relentlessly learning and making connections with all the right people that we can along the way. Here’s a quick recap of our Tour de Cannabis NY:
We had an admirable trip to Millerton, NY as our first stop to meet up with Mike Harney of Harney & Sons Teas and The Hemp Division. We got to tour their fine tea facilities and chat with Mike about their next big steps. Being that Harney & Sons have been growing hemp for the last 2-4 years for their Hemp Division products, they were eligible to apply for the conditional cannabis cultivation license, and got it! We’re very happy for them and it was so gracious of Mike to meet with us to talk more about the industry and their goals.
- On Friday, we attended the CWCB Expo (The Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition) in Manhattan. CWCB is a business-to-business trade show event for the legalized cannabis industry. We had the opportunity to meet with a wide array of vendors, business professionals and companies making their way in the industry. We made connections with vendors for sustainable packaging options, seed genetic varieties, apps and systems for inventory and plant tracking, lighting technology, nutrients, banking options and so much more. They had a whole section sponsored by Women Grow with some of the amazing entrepreneurial women who are leading the way in cannabis! We’re looking forward to potential collaborations and partnering with some of these women in the future.

- On Saturday, we attended the Revelry Conference in Yonkers sponsored by the NYCGPA (NY Cannabis Growers & Processors Association) which we are members of. This conference truly is cannabis business for the people of NY and its where industry meets culture. Their heavy hitters of leaders in the cannabis industry included Chris Alexander (executive director, NYS Office of Cannabis Management), Coss Marte (founder, ConBud), Brittany Tricolla Carbone (ceo, Tricolla Farm & TONIC VIBES), Jamaal Bowman (district 16 US Congressman Representative), Styles P (rapper, advocate/owner Juices For Life & Farmacy For Life), Jes Feuer (Etain Health), Felipe Recalde (ceo, Compound Genetics), legend and legacy grower, Sherbinski, and more! Their motto, “New York cannabis should be owned by New Yorkers” definitely resonated with us.

- We’re of course all about balancing work with play, so we had fun skateboarding around Manhattan and taking an incredible tour through the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy (which we highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area! It’s free to park and explore). We also camped outside of the city and thought it was super cool that all the grills in the campground were made in Jamestown, NY 🙂

Thank you all for your continued support as always and stay tuned for more!
